artist bio
Janine Scheer-Erb (JES) is a multimedia artist, writer, lecturer & game designer.
Through poetry, experimental game mechanics and worldbuilding she creates work that feels close, intimate, and playful. She is informed by a feminist, caring and queer practice, making the hyperrealities (and hyperobjects) of the present tangible. She finds inspiration in the phenomena of physics, the observation of in-between spaces, and absurd internet subcultures. She is organizer and curator for sound culture in Vienna and holds multiple graduate degrees in play, games and new media art.
Her work has been shown in Berlin, New York, Bolzano, Novi Sad, Zagreb, Vienna and on the (virtual) moon.
